Board Member & Director of Operations
Rob Marchese is no stranger to custom cars and hot rods, the Long Beach, California native grew up at Lions Drag Strip and has dedicated his career to designing and building award winning show cars. For 20 years, Rob worked for famed car builder Chuck Lombardo at California Street Rods, building numerous SEMA builds for General Motors and BF Goodrich. It was at California Street Rods, that Rob first met Rick Lorenzen. In 2003, Rick hired Rob to layout a repair and maintenance workshop for Price Transfer as well as work on Ricks’ private car collection. The workshop maintaining the Price Trucking Fleet was incredibly successful and was ultimately handed over to Price Transfer management to operate, freeing up Rob’s time to focus on Rick’s growing collection of Willys, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars and Classics. Rob hired industry talent from Southern California to join the Automobilia Team to design, fabricate and paint awarding winning cars and trucks in house, now known at Lions Automobilia. As Rick’s collection grew, so did the surrounding settings. Rick’s imagination lead Rob and his team to created diorama’s, backgrounds, and sets that would complement the collection. One day Rick and Rob were talking about Lions Drag Strip and how that track influenced Southern California car culture and the motorsport industry. They believed that Lions should be made a Historical Landmark inescapably lead to building a reproduction of Lions Drag Strip which is now at home at the Lions Automobilia Museum.
